Today is graduation day for our bachelor students. We will celebrate their achievements with their parents, grandparents, and friends. They have crossed the finish line, that seemed so far away four years ago. But of course this finish line does not mean the end of their story. It signifies the beginning of their life as a communication professional, ready to take on new challenges.
For us this day also marks the beginning of a new journey, our sabbatical. Everything has been taken care of at home, all that is left to do now is pack. Which usually comes down to piling stuff onto the bed, taking away half again, then stuffing the rest in our true and tested back packs. 20 years ago we made our first 'round the world trip' with these then brand new packs, starting in Zimbabwe. I immediately fell in love with the blossoming jacarandas there. This time our first stop is Namibia: can't wait to renew the experience of seeing wild life, smelling the African bush, seeing baobabs, and enjoying the sounds of crickets and cicadas. We'll keep you posted!
